The first signs of blooms in my garden each spring are the sweet grape hyacinths. I’m partial to them for a few reasons-they remind me of my grandmother and when their leaves start to turn green and blooms are near, so is spring! After a long winter, it’s like a breath of fresh air!
I created this photograph in the evening, to capture the warm tones of the low hanging sun as it slightly touches the back of the hyacinth bloom. I used a shallow depth of field to isolate this particular bloom from the others.
