Overlooking 30 miles of prairie, this grain elevator continues to stand at the edge of the small town of Okaton, South Dakota. Each year the weather decreases the size and stature of the structure. Over the years of living near this prairie skyscraper, I have documented the changes of the building.

I followed a thunderstorm into Badlands National Park by a new road for me, excited for views I hadn’t witnessed before. As the storm clouds rolled north a glimpse of the famous Badlands color peaked through.
