Any time I wander through Badlands National Park with my husband, we almost always see Big Horns!

Several rams, young and old, were in the same approximate area near dusk and were contently eating as I watched close by. A Big Horn ram’s age is usually indicated by the size of his horns, especially if they are broken at the tip from battles with other rams over the years.

I love this angle! I wanted something different that highlighted the regal stature of the male ram. Shifting my position so most of his body was hidden behind a section of the rock, I used the land to create a more mysterious frame so the viewer focuses on his head. I like the minimal appeal this image brings.

My favorite animal to photograph! Beautiful pictures!
They are so regal! I’m just starting to catch the bug and keep my eyes pealed every time I drive through the park in hopes of seeing them. 🙂
These photos are incredibly beautiful.
So good to hear from you, Vicky! 🙂 Thank you!
